Word Pyramids

Instructions

The aim of the game is to try and score as many points as you can by filling word pyramids.

To start a new game, click the 'New Game' button.

At the top you will be given two random letters in your first word pyramid. On each word, you have to add a letter to the previous word and rearrange them to make a new word so start off by trying to make a 3 letter word, then a 4 letter word and so on:

For example if you have been given the letters T and R in the 2 letter word slot then you could add the letter A and rearrange them to make ART, RAT or TAR for your next word, or add the letter O and rearrange them to make ROT. Continue doing this and try to fill as much as the pyramid as you can.

Click on the letters at the top to make your next word and remember you must use the letters in the word above and a new letter of your choice. When you have finished making your word, click on the 'OK' button to see if it is a valid word. If you can't see a word then you can guess one or click the 'Pass' button to go onto a new pyramid.

You are allowed two wrong guesses in each pyramid. The 'Clear' button clears the current word if you have changed your mind or made a mistake.

There will always be a possible 3 letter word in each pyramid.

The word score is worked out depending on what letters you used and how long that word was, the letter values are shown on the letters and the word length bonuses are shown below:

3 letters = No bonus
4 letters = 5 points
5 letters = 10 points
6 letters = 15 points
7 letters = 20 points

You get 5 word pyramids in each game.

Letters appear in the top left corner of the grid and you have to place them onto the grid to try and make horizontal and vertical words. The minimum word length begins at 4 letters but this goes up after you reach 25, 50 and 75 words. There are bonuses for using harder letters and making longer words. The aim of the game is to score as many points you can and to make as many words as you can.
